Birgit Ulher

Birgit Ulher, trompettiste, née en 1961 à Nuremberg, elle a étudié les arts visuels, qui ont encore une influence importante sur sa musique. Depuis son arrivée à Hambourg en 1982, elle a été impliquée dans l'improvisation libre et la musique expérimentale. Depuis, elle a « créé une grammaire distincte de sonorités au-delà de la trompette ouverte » (jazzdimensions.de). Elle se produit en solo, avec des danseurs, des ensembles de travail, et de nombreuses rencontres avec des musiciens de partout dans le monde.
A joué en Europe, USA au Moyen Orient, avec UNSK (Birgit Ulher / Martin Küchen / Lise-Lott Norelius / Raymond Strid), le Trio PUT (avec Ulrich Phillipp et Roger Turner), Nordzucker (avec Lars Scherzberg et Michael Maierhof), Heiner Metzger, Jürgen Morgenstern, Martin Klapper, Tim Hodgkinson, Dorothea Schürch, Rhodri Davies, Robyn Schulkowsky, John Edwards, Michael Zerang, Damon Smith, Lou Mallozzi, Gino Robair, Martin Blume, Ute Wassermann, Albert Márkos, Sven Ake Johansson, Gene Coleman, Ernesto Rodrigues, Heddy Boubaker, Tim Perkis, Nate Wooley, Bryan Eubanks, Tanaka, Ariel Shibolet, Christoph Schiller, Sean Meehan…

Born 1961 in Nuremberg, she studied the visual arts, which still have an important influence on her music. Since moving to Hamburg in 1982 she has been involved in free improvisation and experimental music. Since then she has "established a distinguished grammar of sounds beyond the open trumpet" (jazzdimensions.de). She performs solo, with dancers, working ensembles, and one-time collaborations with musicians from around the world.

Heddy Boubaker

Né en 1963, Heddy a commencé ado par jouer du rock à la guitare électrique, puis est progressivement passé au saxophone ‐ d'abord alto, ensuite basse ‐ et à la musique improvisée tout en ayant dans l'intervalle pratiqué de nombreux autres styles de musique. En 2011, il a stoppé toute pratique du saxophone et s'est mis au synthétiseur modulaire analogique ‐ jusqu'en 2016 ‐ et à la basse électrique puis retour aux guitares. Une grande partie de son activité musicale est centrée sur la pratique improvisée de la musique et la recherche sonore, mais, depuis 2016, il a renoué avec les musiques plus composées, avec en particulier le groupe Èch. Il s'est produit sur de nombreuses scènes nationales & internationales avec de multiples partenaires (dont M.Doneda, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, J-L.Guionnet, E.Prevost, B.Ulher, P.Battus, Lê Quan Ninh, D.Lazro, M.Kerbaj, C.Thomas, S.Beresford, E.Chadbourne, C.Abdenour, C.Wodrascka, J-L.Cappozzo …), a aussi publié de nombreux enregistrements, gère un label, et a été très actif dans l'organisation de concerts en région toulousaine jusqu'en 2022.

Born in 1963, Heddy started music by playing electric guitar in Rock bands, since long time passed, and he played many other musical styles and then progressively switched to the alto and bass saxophone; In 2011 he stopped all his saxophone practice and started to play analog modular synth, up to 2016, and electric bass and then back to guitars. Most of his musical activities are centered on improvised music and sound research but since 2016 he came back with some forms of composed musics particularly with his Èch band. He played on many nationale & international places with a lot of partners (M.Doneda, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, J-L.Guionnet, E.Prevost, B.Ulher, P.Battus, Lê Quan Ninh, D.Lazro, M.Kerbaj, C.Thomas, S.Beresford, E.Chadbourne, C.Abdenour, C.Wodrascka, J-L.Cappozzo among others). He published many CDs, manage a record label and was very active in concerts organization in the Toulouse area up to 2022.
